Celebrating our Own - Terry Brown Receives CCA's Person of the Year Award
Kelowna, BC – The Southern Interior Construction Association celebrated Terry Brown’s Canadian Construction Association Person of the Year Award on Monday April 30th, 2018 at Quails Gate Estate Winery. A group of 50 colleagues, friends and board members joined together to congratulate Terry on his award and to celebrate his many contributions to the construction industry regionally, provincially and nationally.
The CCA Person of the Year Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate the qualities of a leader and who apply the highest standards and principles of the construction industry and business community. To those who have had the opportunity of working alongside Terry Brown, he is the living embodiment of this description.
Serving as a mentor to his colleagues as well as contributing countless hours to association business, Terry’s industry contributions include:
- The revision of BC Hydro’s contract documents.
- Drafting and promoting the Capital Asset Management Framework used to inform public owners on procurement policy.
- Working with a group of industry professionals to write the BCCA whitepaper titled “Fair and Transparent”.
In addition, he is a recipient of the BCCA Outstanding Service Award and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal. Since 1988 Terry has been involved in some part of SICA, serving on the board for 15 years and as Chair of the SICA Board twice. Currently, Terry Brown sits on SICA’s Standards & Practices Committee and the Deputy Minister’s Industry Infrastructure Forum.
