2018 SICA Golf Tournament
On June 21st, 2018 144 golfers converged on Sunset Ranch Golf Course for the annual SICA Golf Tournament. Despite lightening in the valley causing a brief course closure and pouring down rain in the afternoon the event was a huge success!
In the spring of 2018 our newly formed golf tournament committee set out to host the best SICA golf tournament ever! Mission accomplished. This year, instead of two golf tournaments, one in June and one in September, the committee decided to focus their efforts on a June golf tournament. After the great feedback SICA has received about the 2018 golf tournament and a record turnout, waiting list, and successful fundraising efforts, it is safe to say the goal of the best golf tournament was more than achieved.
“This was by far the best version of this event we have ever been to. Despite the weather that tried to wash us out it was a resounding success” says Nathaniel Nagy.
With a sponsor at every hole and 29 total sponsors for the event, each golfer was treated with freebies, snacks and a few drinks. Every golfer received a golf shoe bag at registration filled with swag items from our sponsors, including bottle openers, can koozies and car air fresheners.
The course did call in the golfers due to lightning in the valley, many made their way back to the course to finish their round. While others decided to stick it out in the clubhouse with appetizers and a few rounds of drinks. The prize table this year was outstanding and several lucky winners walked away with prizes like a Webber BBQ, 2 person kayak and lifejackets, Milwaukee tool sets, a drone and Stihl chainsaw and much more!
All together attendees raised $1,120 for the SICA fund through the Construction Foundation. These funds are going directly to help outfit Peter Greer Elementary School with new shop tools!
Congratulations to the Bronag Team who won 1st place!
